I apologize for writing a little novel, but I very highly recommend Megan’s Pet Sitting and I want to make clear why. This was our first time hiring a sitter for our cat and we could not be happier with how Megan looked after her this past week.
First, Megan is very organized. She responded to emails promptly and helped us to work out a functional schedule for her visits. She then set up a “first meeting” so that she could meet our cat and learn more about our her routine. During that preliminary meeting, Megan made careful notes about our cat's feedings, favorite toys, litter boxes, and personality quirks, etc., and afterward she drew her notes up into a “care plan” that documented what she expected to do, when, and how. As a result, you’ll feel sure before you even leave that Megan has a solid grasp on the necessary details.
Second, Megan is trustworthy and reliable. She showed up when she said she would and she stayed the amount of time that we agreed upon. Each time she stopped by, she’d “clock in” with video/pictures of our cat, as well as a brief comment on how the cat was doing. This meant that we could see her doing what she had agreed to do. Furthermore, because Megan is so communicative, you can easily ask her to do something small if it occurs to you in the middle of the week—like, say, checking the second litter box that you forgot to mention because the cat uses it maybe once a month. You can be sure that she’ll be timely, consistent, and responsive.
Third, Megan is great with animals. One of the benefits of her “video updates” each day—besides seeing our cat happy and healthy—was that we could see how gentle, considerate, and kind Megan was with her. Our cat isn’t shy exactly, but she doesn’t meet new people very often and I was afraid that she wouldn’t give Megan much of a chance. Megan, however, was able to reassure her very quickly and within a day our cat was flopping on her side for pets. Megan is also good at coming up with entertainment; she got creative with combining toys to keep our cat stimulated for her hour of person-time each day. I’m sure that if anyone can befriend your pet on short notice, it’s her.
In short: I can’t recommend Megan highly enough as a pet sitter. She’s organized, reliable, and great at winning a pet’s affection. We definitely plan to hire her again. Thank you for all of your help, Megan!

I was very pleased with the care that my cat received from Megan. My cat tends to be shy but curious and when Megan sent me photos of my kitty sitting on her lap, I knew she had a special touch. She asked me about my cat's preferences and routine and paid attention to the details. She put in a little extra time with her and sent photos of them playing, cuddling, and getting sips from the faucet. I felt completely comfortable having Megan take care of her twice now and intend to reach out to her in the future. Thank you, Megan!

I am so thankful that we were lucky enough to have Megan take care of our cat while we were away. She paid so much attention to detail and our cat fell in love with her pretty much the first time they met. I felt all the more comfortable with leaving our cat when receiving updates and pictures from Megan during each visit. I’d used pet boarding services for several pets in the past, but after experiencing the service that Megan provides, they won’t be seeing much more of our little girl anymore. We will definitely be working with Megan in the future! Could not recommend her enough.

We found Megan when searching for a reliable local pet sitter to watch our Stella on short notice while we attended a wedding out of state. Megan went above and beyond and we will definitely be using her permanently as our go to sitter from now on.
She even came over for a meet-and-greet the day of our flight, and Stella immediately felt comfortable with her. Afterward, Megan sent us a personalized care guide she had created just for Stella, outlining her favorite treats, activities, and special care instructions which Megan would provide over the weekend.
Throughout our trip, she kept us updated with constant pictures and updates of our sweet girl and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We were so pleased with our experience with her and will be recommending Megan to friends and family for their pets as well!
