Support for stressful medication routines
Giving Cats Medication Can Be Difficult
Many cats are sensitive to medication routines, especially when they involve pills, liquids, injections, or inhaler treatments. Even a normally relaxed cat may become nervous, suspicious, or resistant when their routine changes.
Megan’s Pet Sitting provides calm, patient in-home medication support designed to reduce stress while following your cat’s care instructions carefully.
The goal is to help your cat receive the medication they need while keeping the visit as gentle, predictable, and low-pressure as possible.

A calm, patient approach
Medication Support That Respects Your Cat’s Stress Level
Cats can quickly become overwhelmed when medication feels forced or rushed. My approach focuses on staying calm, moving slowly, and following the method that works best for your cat.
Whether your cat needs encouragement, routine, space, or a familiar food-based strategy, I work carefully to make the process as low-stress as possible.
- Calm handling and patient timing
- Respect for your cat’s comfort level
- Careful attention to owner instructions
- Low-pressure support whenever possible
Trusted with more complex needs
Support for Ongoing and Higher-Need Care
Some cats require medication on a consistent schedule or have conditions that need extra attention. I’m comfortable supporting routines that involve ongoing care and careful observation.
Whether your cat is managing a chronic condition, recovering from an illness, or requires multiple medications, each visit is handled with consistency, patience, and attention to detail.
Consistent Schedules
Medication given on time, following your cat’s established routine.
Senior Cat Support
Experience with older cats who require slower, more attentive care.
Multiple Medications
Managing more than one medication while keeping routines clear and organized.
Observation after care
Monitoring After Medication
Medication support does not stop once the dose is given. I also pay attention to how your cat is doing afterward, especially if they have a sensitive stomach, chronic condition, or changing health needs.
After each visit, I’ll let you know whether the medication was given successfully and note anything that seems different from your cat’s usual routine.
What I Watch For:
- Appetite and water intake
- Energy level and behavior
- Litter box habits
- Signs of stress or discomfort
- Medication response, when noticeable
- Anything unusual for your cat
A better way to manage medication
Why In-Home Medication Support Matters
Familiar Environment
Your cat stays in their own space, making medication routines feel more predictable and less stressful.
Lower Stress Levels
Reducing stress can make medication easier to administer and improve overall comfort.
Consistent Timing
Medication is given on schedule without the disruption of travel or unfamiliar routines.
No Exposure to Other Animals
Your cat avoids added stress from unfamiliar animals and environments.
What visits look like

Each visit is handled with care, preparation, and respect for your cat’s routine. I follow your instructions closely and work to keep the process as smooth and low-stress as possible.
Depending on your cat’s needs, visits may include preparing medication, administering the dose, offering reassurance, and observing your cat afterward.
- Reviewing medication instructions
- Preparing the medication as directed
- Administering medication calmly
- Monitoring your cat afterward

I include honest observations so you can feel confident your cat is being cared for properly while you’re away.
- Confirmation medication was given
- Notes on how your cat responded
- Appetite and behavior updates
- Photos from each visit
- Anything unusual or worth noting

I have had cats and dogs my whole life and never had anyone as thoughtful and caring..above and beyond. She set a whole new standard from the moment we met her and our cat immediately loved her. (Our pets usually have the best judgment on the people they choose). I highly recommend Megan, and sincerely feel really lucky to finally have found someone I trust.Posted on Google Evan WhiteTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Megan has cared for our 2 cats on numerous occasions recently and we are grateful to have found a pet sitter as great as her. She provides photos and videos daily to update us on how they are doing and gives them lots of love and attention in our absence. Typically, our cats are skidish and reluctant to warm to strangers but took to Megan immediately. It has been an immense relief knowing our cats are well cared for when we travel now!Posted on Google Hannah FritchmanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. When our kitty Pasha got a new scary epilepsy diagnosis we were afraid to leave him for any length of time. Megan took fantastic care of Pasha during our vacation! She made sure he took his twice daily medication, and her updates allowed us to have fun and know he was in the best of hands. She was also flexible when our flight got delayed. Thank you so much! ❤️Posted on Google A. B.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I apologize for writing a little novel, but I very highly recommend Megan’s Pet Sitting and I want to make clear why. This was our first time hiring a sitter for our cat and we could not be happier with how Megan looked after her this past week. First, Megan is very organized. She responded to emails promptly and helped us to work out a functional schedule for her visits. She then set up a “first meeting” so that she could meet our cat and learn more about our her routine. During that preliminary meeting, Megan made careful notes about our cat's feedings, favorite toys, litter boxes, and personality quirks, etc., and afterward she drew her notes up into a “care plan” that documented what she expected to do, when, and how. As a result, you’ll feel sure before you even leave that Megan has a solid grasp on the necessary details. Second, Megan is trustworthy and reliable. She showed up when she said she would and she stayed the amount of time that we agreed upon. Each time she stopped by, she’d “clock in” with video/pictures of our cat, as well as a brief comment on how the cat was doing. This meant that we could see her doing what she had agreed to do. Furthermore, because Megan is so communicative, you can easily ask her to do something small if it occurs to you in the middle of the week—like, say, checking the second litter box that you forgot to mention because the cat uses it maybe once a month. You can be sure that she’ll be timely, consistent, and responsive. Third, Megan is great with animals. One of the benefits of her “video updates” each day—besides seeing our cat happy and healthy—was that we could see how gentle, considerate, and kind Megan was with her. Our cat isn’t shy exactly, but she doesn’t meet new people very often and I was afraid that she wouldn’t give Megan much of a chance. Megan, however, was able to reassure her very quickly and within a day our cat was flopping on her side for pets. Megan is also good at coming up with entertainment; she got creative with combining toys to keep our cat stimulated for her hour of person-time each day. I’m sure that if anyone can befriend your pet on short notice, it’s her. In short: I can’t recommend Megan highly enough as a pet sitter. She’s organized, reliable, and great at winning a pet’s affection. We definitely plan to hire her again. Thank you for all of your help, Megan! I was very pleased with the care that my cat received from Megan. My cat tends to be shy but curious and when Megan sent me photos of my kitty sitting on her lap, I knew she had a special touch. She asked me about my cat's preferences and routine and paid attention to the details. She put in a little extra time with her and sent photos of them playing, cuddling, and getting sips from the faucet. I felt completely comfortable having Megan take care of her twice now and intend to reach out to her in the future. Thank you, Megan!Posted on Google Megan McClintockTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Couldn’t be more pleased by how well my cats were taken care of while I was away during the holidays. Megan is so detail oriented and thorough; from the moment she met the cats to the daily updates she provided, I felt at peace when I was away!Posted on Google Sarah BodinTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Megan has been so thorough in planning to care for my cats, excellent communication, and updates during the job. I have appreciated the updates and reliability so much! I’ll be using her service again! Thanks Megan!Posted on Google MelissaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Megan is the best. I am a veterinarian and particular about how my kiddos are treated, and I have total confidence in her care. She's responsible, sends great photo updates, and my cats adore her. Zero worries when she's on duty!Posted on Google Dylan TaylorTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I am so thankful that we were lucky enough to have Megan take care of our cat while we were away. She paid so much attention to detail and our cat fell in love with her pretty much the first time they met. I felt all the more comfortable with leaving our cat when receiving updates and pictures from Megan during each visit. I’d used pet boarding services for several pets in the past, but after experiencing the service that Megan provides, they won’t be seeing much more of our little girl anymore. We will definitely be working with Megan in the future! Could not recommend her enough.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
